Simply put, the Chamber helps each member business in
a different way. In all cases, the Chamber helps build
companies’ bottom line growth by:
1. Providing networking
opportunities leading to expanded business contacts.
2. Representing your business in policy, political and
community affairs.
3. Creating community, civic or Chamber leadership
opportunities.
4. Presenting pertinent and critical business and
professional education.

How do I network and increase my business contacts
within the Chamber?
The Chamber presents dozens of opportunities to meet
business leaders and partners every month. Everything
the Chamber does includes networking. Successful
members target their networking opportunities so they
are meeting the right types of contacts. A typical
member attends two to three targeted events or
committee/task force meetings a month.

How do I get my
voice heard on policy and community issues?
The Chamber is a grass roots organization that depends
on the opinions of its members in formulating policy
positions. Whether you are interested in property
taxation, workers compensation or a local community
issue, the Chamber is your voice before elected
appointed and regulatory officials. Our Public Affairs
volunteers and staff work with nearly a dozen
committees to formulate policy objectives and
communicate positions to other businesses and
government. You voice is a critical component to the
political effectiveness of the Chamber.

How do I take on a more serious community, chamber
or business leadership role?
Through Committee and Task Force leadership positions
and Leadership Saint Paul (a program for growing
leaders), the Chamber fosters and provides leadership
and leadership growth opportunities tailored to a
member’s interests. The Chamber works with business
leaders to individually identify leadership
opportunities. Many opportunities include leading and
facilitating a group or representing Chamber interest
on issues.

How do I learn from others
with similar business
opportunities and challenges?
Through formal programs like the Business Owners
Roundtables, the Chamber facilitates the exchange of
ideas and experiences between members. Other informal
mechanisms match members with other members with
similar interests. The Chamber provides unmatched
opportunities to meet some of the regions most
influential and experience leaders.

What type of investment is involved
in the Chamber?
The Chamber requires three types of investment for
most members. They are:
1. Membership
investment: To be a member of the Chamber, there is a
membership financial investment based on the number of
employees in your company. Click here to review the

membership investment schedule.
2. Time investment: To achieve your goals within the
Chamber, you will need to attend selected Chamber
activities. This may be 4-8 hours a month.
3. Effort investment: To get what you want out of the
Chamber, you will need to be willing to share your
contacts, business knowledge and skills with other
members.

How do I get started
with the Chamber? Where do I begin?
After becoming a member of the Chamber, new members
are encouraged to attend Member Orientation, generally
taking place the second Friday of every month. At
Member Orientation Chamber volunteers and staff
introduce you to the opportunities within the Chamber
and match those opportunities to your goals within the
Chamber. In addition, the Chamber membership staff
works with members individually to chart a successful
course within the Chamber, including a periodic review
of your goals and Chamber activities.
The Chamber’s
Ambassadors will also call new members to schedule a
meeting to discuss getting involved with the Chamber.
This meeting generally takes place at the new member’s
place of business.

Is there a
Membership guarantee?
Yes. If you have attended at least three events and
you are not convinced that the Chamber will be the
business resource your company needs, we will refund
your entire membership investment. You may exercise
this guarantee between your third and fourth months of
membership.

member-to-member marketing vehicle where members post
and take advantage of fellow member offers.
